If you are less patient you can try Crazy Horse where billiards and beer attracts a mixed crowd of Europeans and Egyptians or alternatively try whichever beach bar is currently in vogue. The more adventurous might want to approach the Bedouin camel drivers who congregate half way along the waterfront from mid morning onwards and offer safaris into the uninhabited "interior." Or if you see one of the more handsome horse riders who strutt up and down the beach you might prefer his company. Normally a horse ride is charged at fifteen Egyptian pounds an hour. In either case don't let embarassment prevent you from informing friends of where and whim whom you are going - a wise precaution. For those whose sense of adventure borders on the reckless ask one of the Bedouin about the possibility of a night time safari by camel or jeep. Ensure that you choose someone who is as honest as he is hansome, that you know who else is coming [ you don't want a crowd of hungry single girls attaching themselves to your party ], and that the intinary includes dinner under the stars with a casette player and plenty of beer. If you prefer the sea to the desert then you can solicit the company of a handsome jeep driver [ who may also want to take along other Egyptian companions or tourists unless you insist he comes alone ] who can take you to the infamous Blue Hole providing he is an expert swimmer. Don't take the dangerous sixty metre plunge down, which is only for experienced divers, but head for the part of the reef known as the "bridge" where the sparkling waters teem with sea urchins and exotic reef fish. If your guide asks you if you are enjoying yourself you should pointedly remark that it is he and not the reef who is unforgettable. As you swim together in the shallow waters you might find that he places his hand on your buttocks to direct you. Don't make any sudden move as the coral reef can be razor sharp !
